1 Timothy 6:11-12 - But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Romans 10:17 - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We know how faith comes; it comes by hearing. We know that to be strong in faith, we must continually hear the word of God. Faith is not something that can be stored up.  You can’t live on yesterday’s faith or yesterday’s word.  You need something fresh for today.

Many people today have faith, they just don’t know it. I am convinced that many people know the word of God and are convinced of the truth in God’s word. You have been taught the will of God, have become educated, and believe these truths.

It is not enough to have faith; you must use it or activate it. It is like having an electrical outlet.  You can’t receive any of the benefits of electricity unless you plug into the power source.

Let’s take healing, for instance. You can know that it is the will of God for you to be whole, having heard the word of God.

1 Peter 2:24 - who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Isaiah 53:4-5 - Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

How do we activate this faith that we have?  By the confession of our mouth, as you confess the word of God with your mouth, it is like taking the plug and plugging it into the outlet.  And then you reap the benefits of electricity.

Mark 11:23-24 - For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

What you speak with your mouth and believe in your heart, that is faith.  Many people don’t realize that they have faith and that they are operating in faith.  The reason they don’t is that their attention is on the natural circumstances.

Sometimes, people feel discouraged because they don’t see immediate change in their circumstances, and they begin to question whether their faith is truly effective. They may think they need “more faith” or even more people praying for them. However, the truth is that if they remain steadfast, God will bring them through. Faith requires perseverance; it’s about pressing forward and trusting Him, even when the results are not yet visible.

Begin to speak over your life today. Say: My faith is working in the circumstances of my life.  God’s word is bringing a change to my situation.  Don’t quit or give up, and you are now on your way to receiving all that God has for you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you that you have given each person a measure of faith.  We know that faith can be increased by hearing your word. I thank you that my faith is working in my life today.  Faith is changing my circumstances, and God is bringing me out of trouble into a good place. Lord help me to keep my faith activated with the words of my mouth.  I give thanks for all that you are doing in my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
