We have a big God! Mark 9:23 - Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Here, we have an account of a father who brings his son to Jesus for healing. He asked the disciples to cast a spirit out of his son, but they couldn’t. The father is now understandably disappointed and skeptical. When Jesus approaches, he explains the situation and says to Jesus, “but if You can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.” Jesus answers, "if you can believe, all things are possible."  It’s so easy to have a negative attitude about your life, to get sucked into only seeing the problems, and you can become disappointed and skeptical of God’s power, just like this father. They are uncertain if He can or will help them.

When you think this way, you will think small and not be bold in asking God for His help. Perhaps it’s because of past experiences or what you have observed in others, but you have doubts and questions concerning God and His ability to work in your life.

He never intended for you to think small; He doesn't want you to wonder about Him. He has spoken His intentions towards you in His Word.  You must learn to understand God's plan for your life through His Word to ask Him for what you need with confidence.

Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible.

God is a big God, and you need to learn to think and dream bigger. You must change your old ways of thinking.  There is nothing small in the plan of God. He thinks on a global scale. Don't be afraid to ask Him to help you with the things in your life.  Is there anything too difficult for Him?

I John 5:14-15 - This is our confidence in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-- whatever we ask-- we know that we have what we asked of him.

God wants you to come to Him boldly and with confidence. Think of it this way: Remember when you were in school and had to take a test? The only way you could feel confident taking the test was by knowing you had studied and knew the right answers. The same is true with God; go to His Word and see what He has said about you and your situation. Get the answers, and pray with confidence.

"...in Christ Jesus our Lord in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him." Ephesians 3:12,13

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:19  that "we have the confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus." Break out small thinking. You don’t have a small God, so why do we live as we do? Move away from the mentality that you must beg God to get something. His Word says to come boldly and confidently, knowing His promises for your life.

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Maybe God has planted thoughts and dreams in your heart, but you never see those dreams come true for one reason or another.  Please don't spend your entire life standing at the foot of the mountain, letting the fear of it shadow your life. You can’t allow the mountains in your life to paralyze you.  God can move that mountain or give you a way over it.  You need to be bold, speak to the mountains in your life, and allow the power of God to change your circumstances.

God is for you, not against you. He wants to help you! When you ask with confidence, knowing that He will help you, He will come to your aid.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank you that I don’t have to walk through life alone. Thank you for allowing me to come boldly and ask for what I need through Jesus. I believe in your promises, and I thank you that because of them, I can ask big and dream bigger, knowing I ask in line with your Word. I thank You that your son Jesus makes a way for me to approach Your throne and declare you the God of the impossible, and with You, there is nothing I can’t do. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
