Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close" Psalm 27:10

Today marks the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Each year, photos and stories remind us to “never forget” what happened that day. Yet as time passes, it becomes easy to forget things we should always remember, and sometimes that even includes the promises of God.

When life shakes us to our core, it’s natural to feel discouraged, forgotten, or even abandoned. But let me remind you today: God has not forgotten you.

We all go through seasons where we feel alone. People may overlook us, but God never will.

For the Lord will not forsake his people; he will not abandon his heritage. Psalm 94:14

God’s love goes beyond even the strongest human bond. He makes a tremendously comforting promise to us in Isaiah 49:15, “Even should she forget, I will never forget you”. God’s memory goes beyond our memory. Even if we forget our story, who we are, and our responsibilities, God remembers us and takes care of us. He does not forget the story that we are writing with him. He always remembers.

Psalms 115:12 says: The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless us.

God loves you and cares deeply about what is happening in your life. God wants to help and bring you out of your circumstances and into victory! For God to do that, you have to continue to trust Him, no matter what is happening in your life.

Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

When a person gets discouraged, it’s easy to think that no one cares and no one wants to help, that you are on your own, but you must think about things that are true. Don’t be weary in believing and speaking the truth, remind yourself that God is faithful and trustworthy and always present.

No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, no angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-38

Read this truth from God’s Word slowly, and allow it to penetrate your heart truly. It’s in those times of loneliness, difficulties, and struggle that we find His compassion, comfort, and faithful presence. Once we experience God, we begin to understand that He is always there. He has always been there. His love and comfort surround us no matter where we go. He is with us always whispering, “I will never forget you." Let this truth uphold you. Let it sink in deep. God will never forget you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are a faithful God, someone I can count on in times of trouble. I thank you that when I feel alone, the truth of your Word promises that you are with me always. Help me to write this truth on my heart and never forget that you never forget me. In Jesus' name, I pray, amen.
