As we end our 1st month in 2025, it’s safe to say this year hasn’t started off the way any of us imagined. With terrorist attacks, devastating storms, a tragic plane crash, and rising prices affecting so many, uncertainty seems to be everywhere. But even in the midst of chaos, one thing remains unshaken—God is full of power. Nothing that has happened has taken Him by surprise. He is for us, He is faithful, and He is with us.

A new year doesn’t automatically mean we will not have any challenges or struggles, but it offers a fresh opportunity to trust God more deeply. No matter what lies ahead, we can hold onto the truth that God has good things in store for us! That promise should fill us with confidence as we move forward.

Here are four truths to hold onto in 2025:

1. God Has Given You His Love

1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. God’s love is unshakable and everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3). He is compassionate and faithful (Psalm 86:5), and He is for you, not against you. When you rest in His love, fear has no place in your heart. His perfect love casts out every doubt and worry.

2. God Has Given You His Peace

John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” God’s peace is greater than any storm. When anxiety tries to take hold, cast your cares on Him (1 Peter 5:6-7) and allow His peace to rule in your heart. His peace is a gift—receive it and walk in it daily.

3. God Has Given You His Word

2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. God’s Word is a firm foundation, unshaken by circumstances. It is alive and powerful (Hebrews 4:12), and it accomplishes everything God sends it to do (Isaiah 55:11). When fear tries to creep in, speak His Word—it will silence every lie and strengthen your faith!

4. God Has Given You His Spirit

2 Timothy 1:7 – “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” Fear tries to limit and control you, but God has given you a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. When fear whispers doubt, stand on His promises and resist the enemy (James 4:7). The Spirit of God within you is greater than anything in this world (1 John 4:4). You are not alone—you are empowered! (Luke 24:49)

By holding onto these truths, you can walk through 2025 with faith, confidence, and courage, knowing that God is with you every step of the way. The book of Ephesians reminds us: Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Ephesians 6:10. This year, choose to rise up in faith! Don’t let fear hold you back. Decide now to grow in prayer, deepen your time in the Word, and strengthen your faith so you can confidently face every challenge.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am so thankful that you are my God. I can know and be certain that no matter what comes my way, you can bring me through it victoriously. Thank you for loving me so completely; thank you for your yes and amen promises. I thank you that as I hold on to the truth, you will keep me steady and bring me into a good place. I give you praise and honor in Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
