Why Do We Give To The Local Church?

"The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it..." Psalm 24:1. As followers of Christ, we believe that we are stewards of God's resources because He is the owner of all that we have. We are reminded many times in the Bible of the importance of giving back a portion of what God has so generously provided. His Word tells us that giving is an act of worship that should be done with a spirit of thanksgiving.

How do we give?

At VCC we have several ways that you can give to God's work through your tithes and offerings. You can give by cash/check on Sundays, you can mail a check to our offices, or you can give online.  Online giving does not make a distinction regarding a debit card or a credit card. The Bible speaks in Proverbs 22:7 about "the borrower [being] servant to the lender." It is important to us that we support your being a good steward of the finances with which God has entrusted you. We would prefer that you refrain from using credit cards, we don’t want anyone to go into debt.

How does online giving benefit me and the church?

• First Fruits – In Proverbs 3:9 we are taught to honor the Lord with the “First Fruits” of our labor. By setting up a recurring contribution that is scheduled to come out of your account on the day you specify,  you will ensure that God receives your “First Fruits”
• Easy - You will not need to remember if you gave this month or send in your offering checks when you are out of town.
• Safe – An electronic gift can’t be lost or stolen unlike a paper check. We only use a proven, secure pay site so you know your personal information is safe.
• No Distractions – Instead of worrying about writing your contribution check during the service, you can be fully engaged during the worship service, knowing that you have already given your offering.
• Assists VCC – This simplifies financial record keeping for the church needs.
